I started out in the antique business in 1995 buying and selling antiques.

In 1999 I decided to start this estate sale company aiding people in need of liquidating estates, down sizing and moving.

I have gained a great deal of knowledge over the years about running an estate sale company and dealing with the changing needs of the people.

Each sale is unique and has different goals.

We will aid you through what could be a difficult time and try to make this experience as pleasant and profitable as possible.

We had no idea how to go about holding an estate sale. Our loved ones had many collections and vintage items that they had enjoyed for decades. We knew it would be difficult to part with them and all the furniture and household items. In fact, it was overwhelming! We didn’t even know where to begin. She and her husband Bill took their time, examined everything, and told us exactly we could expect. They made many suggestions, but never pushed. The sale was scheduled for a holiday weekend, which made us a little skeptical, but they were right! Then they posted a video and photos of most items on their website and sent announcements in their newsletters. They have a great team that organized and set up everything before the sale. During the sale, the team rearranged items and kept the sale moving. The entire process ran smoothly. It was amazing! Lin and Bill are knowledgeable and reliable professionals who are also relaxed and friendly. They even suggested ways we could dispose of items that were left after the sale. When my husband and I hired Lin, Bill and their team to handle our estate sale we knew we were in good hands. Using Dusty Old Bag was one of the best decisions we made before putting our house on the market. Lin and Bill came in ahead of time to assess our items, tagged some items for presale, found us a way to donate our piano, and ran a successful sale in spite of snow and ice storms. When it came time to sell the contents of my parents’ house we were left with what looked like an insurmountable task. They were avid collectors of everything old and every room and attic in the house was filled with their decades of treasures. It is always a challenge allowing anybody, let alone a stranger, come into your home, look at your possessions, and assess their value. Any hesitation I may have felt with this process quickly disappeared when I met Lin, who never felt like a stranger.
